Staying near Monopoli: in town or in the countryside?

Two ways to organise your stay

Staying in Monopoli means being close to the harbour, the old town and the beaches, in a lively setting, especially in high season.

Staying in Castellana Grotte, about 20 km away, means a trullo all to yourselves, a garden and parking, and Monopoli a drive away for your beach day, coming back in the evening to a quiet place.

A central base for the whole area

Il Giardino degli Ulivi sits in the middle of the Itria Valley trulli, the Castellana Caves and the sea at Polignano and Monopoli. You sleep in one quiet place with parking and set off by car each morning to the day's destination: there is no need to change accommodation to see it all.

Tips for visiting Monopoli

• Explore the old town starting from Porta Vecchia; the Capitolo beaches have sand and clear water.
• In high season the beaches are very busy: bring towels and water and choose quieter times.
• After the sea, the trullo's garden is the place for a relaxing evening.
