Why stay here if you want to visit the Caves

Staying in Castellana Grotte puts the caves a few minutes away by car, with no long transfers at dawn or on the way back. You can visit at your own pace and then decide how to spend the rest of the day.

Our trullo is independent, in the countryside: after the underground visit you are back among the greenery of the garden, the veranda and, if you like, the heated jacuzzi (extra charge).

A central base for the whole area

Il Giardino degli Ulivi sits in the middle of the Itria Valley trulli, the Castellana Caves and the sea at Polignano and Monopoli. You sleep in one quiet place with parking and set off by car each morning to the day's destination: there is no need to change accommodation to see it all.

Tips for visiting the Caves

• The visit is guided: check times and routes on the official website and book ahead in busy periods.
• After a morning at the caves, you can head to Alberobello or the sea in the afternoon.
• It is cooler inside the caves: bring a light sweater even in summer.
