3-day itinerary: Castellana Grotte, trulli and sea
A simple route with the trullo as your base: caves, the Itria Valley and two towns on the sea. All by car, with short distances.
Day 1: Castellana Caves
Spend the morning at the Castellana Caves, a few kilometres from the B&B. The visit is guided: check times and routes on the official website and book ahead in busy periods. In the afternoon you can wander around Castellana Grotte or relax in the garden. In the evening, if you've asked for it, the jacuzzi is waiting.
Day 2: Alberobello and the Itria Valley
Set off early for Alberobello, about 10 km away: it is one of the most visited places in the region, so it's best to arrive before the crowds. In the afternoon continue among the villages of the Itria Valley, such as Locorotondo and Martina Franca. Come back for dinner and an evening in the garden.
Day 3: Polignano a Mare and Monopoli
Dedicate the day to the sea: Polignano a Mare and Monopoli are both about 20 km away. Start with the old town of Polignano in the morning, then have lunch and visit the beaches around Monopoli. If the weather looks uncertain, swap this day with day 2.
Practical tips

- In summer and at weekends set off early to avoid the crowds and the heat.
- Always check opening times and tickets for attractions on the official websites.
- If you have more days, add Putignano, Conversano or the Zoosafari in Fasano (see Things to do).
